woodcut print on paper, site-specific installation

Rob Swainston is another printmaker who rethinks the notion of prints as "mulitples," often creating large-scale, site-specific installations that can transform entire spaces, even landscapes. In Slightly Unstuck, Swainton made hundreds of woodcut monoprints on paper and hung them from the ceiling of the front entrance of the AAC's lobby, underneath the grand staircase. This installation provides visitors to the AAC a unique way to experience prints and the architecture of the AAC building during "Ctrl+P."
